We propose a method to estimate macroscopically the situations ofpedestrian traffic flows on a crosswalk. This method evaluates thespatial distribution patterns of pedestrians obtained with imageprocessing by using entropy. By use of entropy, a pedestrian trafficdemand can be estimated from a pedestrian traffic image. We also proposea pedestrian traffic signal control method which adjusts a pedestriangreen time using entropy every signal cycle
