摘要

Display of information to the operator in advanced physical andvirtual telepresence systems has to comprise different modalities ofhuman perception. Especially concerning the haptic modalities,model-based generation of appropriate stimuli to the operator is animportant task. For this reason future research in telepresence andvirtual reality requires a mathematical model of human perception due toexternal stimuli produced by feedback devices in a multi-modaltelepresence system. The paper presents a mathematical framework fordescribing the principles of human perception in the terminology ofsystems theory. Formal descriptions of experiments performed in avirtual environment show the viability and advantage from the presentedapproach
