In the electric machines, in addition to electrodynamic stresses,other dangerous stresses like those giving rise to differentialexpansions could exist. These stresses are due both to the difference intemperatures of the active materials and to the difference in theircoefficients of thermal expansion. This paper takes into considerationthe strains which the field winding and the commutating pole winding ofa direct-current motor can undergo. To have more reliable results, thethermophysical characteristics of the materials constituting the statorof the motor are taken into account
