The author presents a study on a four pole machine with anasymmetric buried magnet rotor having cage bars. In addition tosaturation effects, the parameters are known to vary with the directionof rotation due to the rotor asymmetry. The machine has been modelledusing an equivalent circuit. The parameters of this model have beendetermined by both computational and experimental techniques
