The problem of static calibration of measurement channels isconsidered under an assumption that the raw result of measurementdepends both on a scalar measurand and on a scalar influence quantity. The methodology of calibration based on the Gauss-function approximationis developed and examined using synthetic data representing ameasurement channel with a fibre-optic sensor. Various algorithms ofcalibration are compared; the accuracy of measurements, based on theresults of calibration, is used as the main criterion of comparison. Some recommendations are formulated, concerning the applicability of thecompared algorithms of calibration
