Electronic devices for the measurement of local forces betweenmandibles

The forces acting between teeth during the mastication of foodhave not been determined exactly until now. The exact value of forcesbetween mandibles is very important for the determination of forces inmusculus temporalis, m. masserter and m. pterygoideus with regard to thepredetermination of the deformations of the mandibles and the shifts(the stability and non-stability) of each tooth. The authors considerthe development of special electronic devices with highly sensitiveforce sensors based on a strain gauge capable of measuring the realactive forces (in real time) between a pair of teeth in oppositemandibles with minimal elevation
