Describes an image reconstruction algorithm for ultrasoundtomography using time-resolved transmitting mode ultrasound. It isapplicable to many ultrasound imaging areas and is particularly suitablefor process tomography like multiphase flow imaging. The special featureof this algorithm is that it tests at a specific time the pulse'sarrival instead of attenuation information. This algorithm is developedfrom a system point of view therefore the data collection is discussedin detail. The system using transmitting mode algorithm substantiallyreduces the data measurement time compared to the one using reflectionmode algorithm. In contrast the former can handle the data measurementwith ease. The images reconstructed by this algorithm are encouragingand are ready for further processing if needed
