The paper is concerned with the scattering by a sea surfaceroughened by combined wind and rain in the particular case ofscatterometric incidences. Experimental wave tank data collected at 13.5and 36 GHz are analysed for both wind and artificial rain inducedroughnesses. The radar backscattering at scatterometric incidences isshown to obey a superposition combination for both effects and to followa linear dependence with rainrate
