Linking the bands of the MOT spectrum through product design: aninternationally applicable management operation for reconcilingdivergent view of MOT

摘要

An attempt is made to reconcile divergent views of management oftechnology (MOT) by emphasizing the role of product design as a mostimportant attribute/component of the MOT strategy and by relating MOT toother identifiable parallel broad-management parameters/philosophies,such as total quality management, total productivity, technologytransfer, and the more encompassing concept of life-cycle enterprisemanagement. The current status of cooperative efforts is examined, andproduct design is considered as a foundation for motivating cooperationand reducing the risks of decisions
