A 1/4' true progressive scan 640(H)*480(V) FT-CCD for multimediaapplications

A VGA-compatible 1/4" true progressive scan 640(H)×480(V)FT-CCD imager with 5.1×5.1 μm2 pixels designed forcompact, low-power multimedia applications, is presented. To obtain highcharge storage in this very small pixel, the profiled peristaltic CCDstructure was combined with vertical anti-blooming. The three-phasepixel holds up to 60000 electrons. 20 MHz frame shift is achieved,yielding 75 dB smear suppression. Charge binning allows interlacedoperation
