Analysis on the Comparison of Retrofit and Volley Libraries on Android-Based Mosque Application

Mosques are not only muslim's place of worship, but they can also become community center that actively manage religious activities, such as congregational prayers, religious ceremony, and the mosques financial management. However, the dissemination of information about what is going on within the mosque or regarding its activities still conducted in a conventional way, such information about finance was still displayed on information board. One of solutions that can handle this matter is to develop an information system based on Android smartphone application. This application collects mosque data such as mosques profile, activities, list of ustadz/scholars, and financial information. This system was developed by using RAD (Rapid Application Development) method and the satisfaction analysis was conducted using SUS (System Usability Scale) method. Additionally, Retrofit and Volley libraries were also used to compare the data retrieval speed from the database. The result of this research is an application that represent the mosque named MasjidPro. This research also discovered that Retrofit is better than Volley in data text retrieval speed from database to Android application. Finally, the satisfaction analysis shows that final score of SUS is 78.5 which is in "Acceptable Range".
