The Conestoga space launch vehicle has been developed to meet the needs of the U.S. Government, commercial and international user communities for launching payloads ranging from 500 to 5000 pounds into low earth orbit and for meeting special requirements for other missions, including geosynchronous and planetary. The Conestoga Model 1620 will support the launch of the COMET-1 mission from the NASA Wallops Flight Facility in early CY 1994. other Conestoga versions are under analysis and development to support BMDO and other scientific requirements as well as the needs of the commercial communications, remote sensing, navigation and mcirogravity communities.
