I-Q TCM is a form of coded modulation in which two independentencoders select the in-phase and quadrature components of thetransmitted signal. This design approach results in a significantincrease in the minimum time diversity when compared with comparable“traditional” TCM schemes. I-Q TCM schemes of varyingcomplexity are presented; it is shown that the coding gains ofmoderately complex systems are very close to what is expected from thecutoff rate limit
