Configuration management strategy for distributed and diversesoftware development environments

摘要

This paper intends to provide an overview of management ofsoftware development environments having multiple operating systems andhardware platforms. The paper addresses issues related to systemintegration as well as independence while fulfilling the need of aseamless software development environment. The article examines theelements necessary to provide efficient software development,integration and test environments that supports distributed execution ofsoftware programs across different hardware platforms. The issuesrelated to dissimilar operating systems and hardware platforms are alsopresented. Requirements for initial and future configuration managementneeds of such dissimilar environments are discussed
