Power electronics, the basic technology for electric powerconversion and control, has achieved great progress utilizing theadvanced power semiconductor devices such as thyristor, GTO, IGBT andIPM. The application areas of power electronics are very wide from powerutility systems and uninterruptible power sources to express traindrives and robot arm drives.
