The performance of switching fabrics is crucial to the globalquality of service offered by an interconnection networks. It is shownthat highly detailed simulations can be accelerated by using a parallel(high performance) computer as the computational platform. Thesimulation model is represented totally independently of the specificcomputer: hence validation has to be performed only once and theacceleration and optimization of a given implementation are strictlyorthogonal to the problem description
