The United States electric utility industry, which is composed ofover 3,214 utilities, expends over $20 to $30 billion annually onequipment and construction. The objective of the study presented in thispaper was to determine current US utility procurement practices andcompare them to a world class standard. The study's conclusions areoutlined by the author
