Land surface consists of land, water and vegetations/settlements as surface objects. Digital terrain model (DTM) showsland surface without vegetations/settlements, while digital surface model (DSM) shows the whole existing objects withinthe topography. The objective of this study was to compare between DSM and DTM results of several ground check spotsin Ngantru Hamlet. The research was carried out in several stages, i.e. preparation, determinating benchmarks (BM) basedon BM point of Geospatial Agency of Indonesia (BIG) at Cepu (East Java), determinating several ground check points(GCPs), acquiring aerial photographs in Ngantru Hamlet, and processing the aerial photo data. Existing data retrievalpoints in the area included locations with and without surface objects. The analysis showed a comparison of the results ofaerial photo analysis using DTM and DSM on the observation locations. The results of this difference are then comparedwith direct height measurement data in the field. The data correlation value of R~2 = 0.7807 indicated that the data had ahigh relationship.
