Mesoscopic plastic strain-based fatigue model is introduced to evaluatefatigue damage of typical fillet welded details of orthotropic steel decks.Verification of the model is performed by comparing experimental lifeof structural steels under biaxial random loadings. The model isemployed to estimate the fatigue damage of fillet welded details of anorthotropic steel deck. The fatigue damages significantly deviate fromnominal stress-based approach. A simplified formula is proposed topredict multiaxial fatigue life of fillet welded detail using only nominalstress-based fatigue damage. Proposed relation shows a good agreementwith experimental fatigue lives of fillets welded joints.
