This paper proposes a reliable and stable numerical method forhomogenized axial elastic modulus prediction of RTPs using finiteelement models subjected to tension. Compared with thehomogenization method, the differences were even less than 1%, whichdemonstrated that the homogenization method could be applied toprompt and accurate predictions of elastic responses of RTPs subjectedto tension. The investigation on the effect of winding anglesdemonstrated the thickness and area ratios of each layer also playsignificant roles in the determination of homogenized axial elasticmoduli. The effects of thickness-radius and stacking sequences are alsodiscussed.
