This paper presents an experimental investigation on concomitantvortex-induced vibration and cross flow top-motion excitation withflexible risers. The riser can was mounted vertically, with the diameterof 2 cm and the length of 5 m. The responses of trajectory, amplitude, frequency and other parameters were analyzed in detail underconditions of different excitation amplitude and frequency in uniformflow. It was found that the concomitant VIV and top-motion excitationsignificantly affects the flexible cylinder response when compared tothe pure VIV tests. The analysis results show that the CF direction topexcitation with flexible risers have varying degrees of impact on theVIV of flexible risers. When the reduced velocity is relative small(5展开▼
