A hybrid analytical/numerical approach is presented to study thevibration characteristics of the ring-stiffened conical shell coupled withinternal structures. The shell and ribs are described by Flügge theoryand annular plate equations, respectively. Interior structures aremodeled by finite element method(FEM). In order to build the couplingrelationship between the shell and interior structures, the artificialspring technique is adopted. Through continuity conditions, thevibration equations of the whole structure are established. Comparingthe present results with FEM solutions, a good agreement is gained andthe present method is verified. Moreover, the effects of externalexcitations and coupling conditions on vibration responses are furtherdiscussed.
