摘要

Reinforced concrete buildings with masonry infills are widely used structural system in many countriesin the world. Modelling of masonry infill using a strut model is a recommended procedure in severaldesign codes. However, there are significant variations in estimating the strut characteristics that causeconfusion for practicing engineers. Therefore, the strut width of the infill is first investigated based onthe experiment results of five 1/2 scaled specimens of RC frame with masonry infill. Appropriate strutwidth is discussed based on comparative study with experiments and several methods in past literatures.
