In recent years, smartphones have developed tumultuously; in fact, they have increasingly taken on the roleof portable and compact personal computers equipped with a range of sensors and applications capable ofmonitoring, for example, physical activity, heartbeat and sleep. Their ability to manage and transmit datamakes them a very interesting tool even in the scientic eld, where the concept of lab in a phone" is gainingground. In this work, after briey summarizing these new approaches, we will consider the application ofsmartphones to the diagnostics of Cultural Heritage.
