Research and Implementation of Ontology Automatic Construction Based on Relational Database

摘要

This paper analyzed the Formal expression corresponding relationships between relational databases and OWL ontologies firstly, and then proposed technology of ontology automatic construction based on relational databases. The main steps and key links were discussed in detail, and then an ontology generator named OWLFROMDB was implemented, which can automatically convert a relational database to an OWL ontology, and offers a much cheaper alternative than building a new one from scratch. An experimental case was given to verify the effectiveness of the tool at last.
