A novel adaptive nonlinear coherent receiver for the detection ofM-QAM (or M-PSK) modulated data streams transmitted over randomlytime-variant frequency-selective fast-fading macrocellular mobile radiochannels is presented. Assuming a TDMA system, the main feature of thereceiver is to combine the channel-estimation and the data-detectionprocedures, thus obtaining enhanced channel-tracking capabilities atnearly the same complexity of conventional adaptive receivers for landmobile data-communication
