Voltage regulator for contactor ridethrough

This paper describes a simple voltage regulator that allowscontactors to ride through power line disturbances such as sags anddropouts. The voltage regulator protects critical equipment incontinuous process industries and prevents loss caused by downtime. Thevoltage regulator is inexpensive and easily retrofitted into existinginstallations. A field trial of the voltage regulator has beensuccessfully completed
