An advanced air interface for integrated digital mobilecommunications systems

An advanced air interface for mobile communications systems isproposed to enhance radio spectrum utilization and to offer integratedservices. The proposed interface has a three-layer signaling structurethat is optimized from the network and mobile point of view. A novelcell selection logic based on fuzzy logic and a new channel assignmentstrategy are also proposed to improve radio transmission features. Thesetechniques can be directly applied to future mobile radio systems,including personal telecommunication systems
