The design and throughput performance of a multiaccess protocolapplicable to fully connected and homogeneous high-speed radio LANs arepresented. The results show that while the propagation and processingdelays degrade the throughput increasingly with the delay constant-afactor equal to the smallest integer greater than or equal to the ratiobetween the two-way radio propagation and processing delays to thepacket duration-the protocol still is found to offer good throughputs onthe order of 0.4-0.7 for radio LANs of up to a 100-Mb/s rate and 10-kmrange
