EMI control methodologies-application in a low cost TV demodulatorsystem

Electromagnetic radiations from various natural and man-madesources usually affect the performance and longevity of variouselectronic systems provided appropriate control techniques are notapplied to protect them. Severe electromagnetic interference (EMI), attimes, causes permanent damage to various components/subsystems/systemsrequiring compulsory applications of control methodologies from thesystem design to the evaluation. An indigenously built low cost TVdemodulator system, developed by the the Heavy Electronics EngineeringGroup of ER&DC, Calcutta is described with the focus on theapplication of various EMI control techniques for safety and the secureperformance of the system
