A technique for the extrapolation of open-site radiated-emissiontest data to distances greater than the distance used during test ispresented. Extrapolation factors are derived which are functions offrequency and polarization, but independent of the type of the source.With these factors, field strengths which could occur at the testdistance required by a standard can be conveniently calculated from datataken at reduced distance. Worst-case uncertainties in the extrapolatedresults are found to be less than 3 dB for almost all practicalsituations
