Skin-effect considerations on transmission lines subjected toexternal time-domain EM fields

The transient skin resistance is taken into account tocharacterize a single transmission line above a lossy ground and exposedto time-varying electromagnetic fields. To solve for the responsevoltage, modified transmission line equations are used. These newtelegrapher's equations include an integral-differential term whichtakes into account the transient skin-effect resistance. The equationsconsist of the equivalent voltage and current sources which respresentthe external time-domain electromagnetic fields. The time-domainfinite-differences approach is then applied to the modifiedtelegrapher's equations. This method also makes it possible toinvestigate how the response voltage propagates along the transmissionline
