Evaluation of insulation conditions in high voltage equipment usingnondestructive tests

The author considers a method for evaluating the condition ofhigh-voltage insulation equipment based on measurements of a fewcharacteristic parameters. Results of preliminary tests of models of theinsulation are the basis of the evaluation of the service life of actualequipment. The method is based on the mathematical correlation betweenelectrophysical characteristics measured on the actual equipment andsimilar characteristics measured on samples of insulation. A methodologyis developed for determining the correlation between electrophysicalcharacteristics of the insulation and both temperature and electricintensity and also the influence time of these factors (either combinedor separate)
