A laboratory for student research on insulators using the pulsedelectroacoustic technique

A method under development for digitizing an acoustic pulse signal(real or synthesized) is described. The technique described here isintended for a student laboratory experiment and is not meant to replacea digital multichannel signal averager, which is much better suited forproduction work. A sampling method using semiconductor switches andWalsh-like transform functions is discussed. A simple example isconsidered
