摘要

The five types of protective earthing systems for industrial andcommercial power systems systems behave differently under the same earthfault conditions. Having dissimilar loop resistances and reactances inthe systems, the fault currents significantly deviate in magnitudes andresonance behaviour. The 16th IEE wiring regulations recognizes thisphenomenon and contributes solutions. The author supplements thediscussion put forward by the regulations and related articles. Theauthor also draws readers' attention to open-neutral faults and theinteraction of lightning protection systems with the protection earthingsystems
