In this article, the practical comparison of efficiency and other working parameters of the modular and non-modular converter solutions of the bidirectional DC/DC converters is solved. The overview of the block circuits of the photovoltaic system for households with DC microgrid is shown. The main focus will be given to the bidirectional converter used between battery energy storage and DC microgrid of the PV system. It deals with the practical comparison of the one non-modular high – voltage SiC-based dual - interleaved converter and with modular low voltage GaN-based. DC-DC converters operate at different switching frequencies. The efficiency, overall volume output voltage ripple, and input current ripple will be compared due to different output loads of both systems. These factors also with overall volume and costs are very important in modern converters for PV systems. For a finding of the best solution, the simulation design of the variant solution was done, and consequently mutually compared in the way of simulations and experimental measurements.
