Fast Calibration Method for Broadband Electromagnetic Prospecting Equipment

To improve the calibration efficiency and precision of broadband electromagnetic prospecting equipment, a calibration signal generator and calibration data processing method were developed. The designed signal generator can output four kinds of square-wave signal at particular frequencies. Multiple frequency points can be calibrated using these signals, which greatly improves calibration efficiency compared with the sine wave method. When processing the calibration data, correlation detection technology was used to suppress noise interference effectively and increase calibration accuracy. Finally, the observation channels and magnetic sensors of the broadband electromagnetic exploration device were effectively calibrated using the newly designed signal generator and the calibration data processing method. Filed tests verified the validity of the fast calibration method.
