Dual-Teaching Model: A Practical Approach for Students in Rural Areas

The allocation of educational resources directly affects the realization of educational equity, and teachers are the key resources needed to be allocated. The synchronous model can provide interaction between HTs and students, but the students are limited, and cost much. The asynchronous model is the teaching efficient and cost-effective, but there is no direct interaction between HTs and students. This study proposes a dual-teaching model, which includes HTs from well-developed school districts and LTs from underdeveloped areas working together to complete the entire instructive activities. The model can be divided into three stage include preparation, implementation, and evaluation. HTs are responsible for developing and delivering the main content, LTs provide face-to-face guidance and discussions with students. The preliminary results suggest that DTM has been effective in improving students' learning and in optimizing teachers' resources.
