Economic load distribution (ELD) is a key issue in economic dispatch of power systems. The economic benefits of power systems are also important indicators for long-term operation of power plants. Power plants emit a large amount of polluting gas during thermal power generation, which have a great impact on environment. In recent years, worldwide attention to environmental issues has been increasing. In the context of this era, many scholars have proposed the environmental and economic load distribution (EELD), which aims to reduce environmental pollution and enhance economic benefits simultaneously. With the continuous development and utilization of new energy, wind power has gradually entered public sight as an inexhaustible and clean energy. Coordinating wind turbines with thermal generators to jointly generate electricity, named wind-thermal economic emission load distribution (WTEELD), is also a hot issue in the field of load distribution. In order to figure out the problem of load distribution more comprehensively, ELD model, EELD model and WTEELD model are established respectively. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used to solve this problem. Considering the limitations of PSO in the solution process, some improved PSO algorithms are proposed to obtain more accurate results.
