In photovoltaic systems, there are problems such as shading and dust, which causes a difference in the electrical power production of each panel. A practical solution to this issue is distributed maximum power point tracking, in which separate converters used for each panel. However, using this method increases the stress on the circuit elements, the possibility of a loss of controllability and increasing the error of the maximum power point tracking algorithm due to the voltage unbalancing issue that is created in this method. This paper tries to solve the unbalancing voltage issue by proposing a new configuration of converters. This new configuration includes two three-level boost converters, which one of their capacitors is shared. For controlling of the proposed two modules three-level converter, the sliding mode controller is used, and the simulation results of the system are presented.
