Self Referred Capillary Probe Fabry-Perot Refractometer

Refractometers are essential tools that are used in various industrial applications. This paper describes a refractometer implementing the coherent optical frequency domain reflectometry technique as the interrogation method with an air capillary in the sensing probe, creating a Fabry-Perot cavity. The probe is self-referred, having a reference cavity for the measurement of the refractive index. The measurement error of the refractometer is lower than 0.3% with a refractive index measurement of 1.3729 for iso-propyl alcohol and 1.3282 for distilled water.
