High-speed (10 kHz) dual-plane stereoscopic particle image velocimetry (PIV) measurements enabled with a single burst-mode laser, which are synchronized with high-speed OH-PLIF imaging, are conducted on a turbulent swirling reactingonreacting swirling jet to gain improved understanding of turbulent swirling combustion. The four cameras are registered with a single view of the calibration target (LaVision 106-10) at a single fixed location, and the coordinate systems of the two parallel PIV planes are precisely aligned with a thin transparent target placed between the two parallel laser beams after camera registration and self-calibration. This paper details the procedures for data acquisition and post-processing from a dual-plane PIV and high-speed OH-PLIF measurement in a turbulent, swirling, reacting combustor. A preliminary analysis shows that the helical disturbances along the swirling shear layer play key roles in large-scale flame rollups and evolution.
