Fixed-time controller is applied to stand-alone photovoltaic systems to achieve maximum power point tracking. To avoid singularity in controller and ease implement, a new fixed-time reaching law is proposed. And then, a new maximum power point tracking algorithm based on fixed-time nonsingular terminal sliding mode control is proposed. The proposed algorithm can achieve maximum power point tracking with varying irradiance and load within a constant fixed time. Finally, simulation results verify that our fixed-time scheme leads to more excellent performance than classic PID control and works effectively under rapidly varying irradiance and load.
