The paper presents data relating to the development of the automatic control system for the line of sunflower seed calibration and cleaning. The authors considered the production technology, defined the technological requirements, safety and reliability requirements on the basis of which the automatic control system was implemented. Further, the authors developed a functional flowchart for line control with technical control and management means communicating with the line mechanisms. To select a controlling device, the technical control&management facilities available at the market were analyzed. As a result, with the account of technical parameters and the economic expediency of its application, the authors selected a programmable relay PR114. For this relay a special control algorithm was developed; it was implemented in the language of functional blocks FBD in the software OWEN Logic.
