A special role in the Internet of Things is played by measuring tools that translate information about the external environment into machine-readable data, and thus fill the computing environment with meaningful information. The article analyzes the possibility of using Bluetooth Low Energy beacons for constructing RTLS-systems. In the first part, the subject area is reviewed and the current state is analyzed by reviewing scientific and technical publications. The technologies that allow positioning both inside and outside the room are considered. The algorithm of trilaceration with reference to Bluetooth Low Energy beacons is considered. A laboratory facility is assembled at the university, software is made and experimental studies are conducted that show the viability of the proposed algorithm. The authors formulate and describe further directions of scientific-technical studies in this area.
