In this paper presented the researches results of the scattering characteristics of the Van Atta array based on low-profile antennas with the strip of E- and U-form. It is shown that the use of a reactive element in the form of an additional microstrip between the antennas eliminates the failure of the frequency characteristics of the monostatic RCS (Radar Cross Section) of the Van Atta array. This leads to the expansion of the operating frequency band of the Van Atta array on the level minus 3 dB of irregularity of the frequency characteristics of the monostatic RCS relative to the maximum of the monostatic RCS to the frequency range from 1.162 to 1.954 GHz and bandwidth is 792 MHz or 62% relative to 1.2 GHz (at the source Van Atta array is from 1.36 to 2.00 GHz and bandwidth is 640 MHz or 47% relative to 1.36 GHz).
