The authors have developed universal formulas for determination of overall dimensions of generators with magnetic cores of various structural design, including radial, conical and axial, with permanent-magnet excitation, which are typically used in wind power complexes as primary energy sources. The obtained formulas make it possible to engineer electrical machines of various structural design following the specified power characteristics, to choose an optimal weight-size-based design with regard to a task in hand. It is shown that if for multiple electrical machines being compared, the specified set of parameters matches entire in values, then these machines can be stated to have the same characteristics in terms of the properties of interest. However, other parameters may change under certain mathematical laws so that the selected parameters remain unchanged.
