To study the lubrication performance of an aviation spiral bevel gear transmission shafting, applying theories of tribology and heat transfer, thermal analysis of the entire transmission shafting was performed based on the software platform of ANSYS Workbench. The steady-state temperature field were obtained, where the influence of rotational speed and torque were discussed. The results show that in the aviation spiral bevel gear transmission shafting, the highest temperature appears at the contact areas of outer ring raceway and rollers of the 'compressed' bearing. Furthermore, the highest temperature of the driving gear increase respectively with the increasing of rotational speed and torque. Finally, the experimental data is basically consistent with the simulation results, which verifies the feasibility of the simulation method.
