摘要

Climatic change and anthropogenic activities can increase the bioavailability and toxicity of trace metals in aquatic ecosystems. This research characterized the concentrations of 25 trace elements in the gill, kidney, liver and muscle of Lateolabrax japonicus, (Japanese sea bass); to expand the database needed for environmental impact assessments. A total of 30 fish samples with a total body weight and normal length range between 118-340 g and 22.1-27.8 cm respectively were analyzed with ICP-MS. The results showed clear differences in concentration of trace elements in tissues, that followed the order liver > kidney > gill > muscle. There were higher concentrations of Cu and Sr in liver and gill tissues respectively. The muscle tissue contained the highest mean concentrations of Rb and Cs, in addition to high As concentrations compared to other studies. Gill tissues revealed positive bioaccumulation of trace elements with sampling stations in order of Moriyama > Omisaki > West Shinjiko. All trace element concentrations in the present study were within permissible food safety regulation levels. However, the results reflect an external influence on the water quality that can be monitored using fish tissue. In particular, the gills were most suitable for monitoring the water quality.
