In this paper, a light weight, high gain circularly polarized microstrip patch antenna for satellite telemetry application is presented. This antenna is suitable on Anti-Earth Viewing (AEV) side of GEO satellite to fill the void created by Earth Viewing (EV) antenna maintaining same polarization, thus ensuring a near omni-directional coverage. Moreover, signal ambiguity due to interference in the overlap region of EV and AEV antennas can be avoided by means of high gain antenna. Hence, a circularly polarized high gain antenna in stacked configuration with three truncated patches has been designed and fabricated. It has return loss better than 15dB at resonant frequency and a peak gain of 10.5dBi with 0dBi coverage of ±45°.
